Bonded Bra Construction: Processes, Samples and Seam Checks
By LXSC · Sourcing and product-development guides

Bonded bra construction needs a model-specific explanation. A smooth cup, a cut edge and a joined seam describe different parts of a garment. Do not infer a glue-free process, particular machinery or wash durability from the word seamless or from a photograph.
Separate the three process questions
Ask how the fabric is cut, how layers or panels are joined, and how the cup obtains its shape. The answers may describe different operations. Request the material and process record for the sample rather than a general equipment list; machinery shown in a factory video does not prove its use on that model.
| Question | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| How is the edge cut? | Named cutting method and close-up of the supplied edge |
| How are layers joined? | Joint locations, joining material and process description |
| How is the cup shaped? | Cup construction and sample or component reference |
| What happens after washing? | Agreed method, results and before/after photographs |
Verify the exact fabric and joint
Record face fabric, lining, any adhesive layer and the seam location separately. Bonded is not a universal synonym for adhesive-free. If glue-free construction is an essential buying requirement, ask the technical team to confirm the bill of materials and process before approving that description. Neither the absence of glue nor a soft initial feel guarantees freedom from skin irritation.
Agree sample and wash acceptance criteria
Inspect the neckline, underband and joined areas for lifting, rolling, stiffness or separation. Repeat the inspection after the agreed care procedure, retaining an unwashed reference where practical. Record sample size, wash method, number of cycles and observations. A home comparison is useful for screening but must not be presented as a certified laboratory result.
Distinguish an existing construction from development
Selecting an existing model does not give permission to change its joint, cup or fabric without review. Ask whether a proposed change requires new materials, samples or tooling. Existing catalog styles have a minimum of 100 pieces per model; color and size splits and availability are confirmed for quotation. Original new-design production starts from 10,000 pieces; feasibility, fees and the color-size breakdown require a project quotation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all bonded bras glue-free?+
No. Obtain the sample's material and joining-process details before using that claim.
Does a laser-cut edge guarantee durability?+
No. Assess the actual fabric, edge and completed garment using agreed wear and wash conditions.
Send your model or project requirements, quantities, size and color plan, and destination. Julie can confirm the applicable order route and what the quotation includes.
Existing-style wholesale starts from 100 pieces per model. Original-design custom production starts from 10,000 pieces. Color and size allocation, branding and packaging terms are confirmed separately.
