Dropship Parcels or Bulk Stock: Compare Total Fulfillment Cost
By LXSC · Sourcing and product-development guides

A change in parcel rules is a reason to recalculate your fulfillment model, not proof that every seller should import bulk stock. Compare the same destination, expected sales volume and customer-service requirement. Keep taxes, per-shipment handling and inventory costs separate; this page does not state current de minimis eligibility for any country.
Use the same demand and service assumptions
Record orders per period, units per order, expected delivery requirement and product mix. A comparison that gives the parcel model uncertain sales but assumes every bulk unit sells is biased. Include cancellations, undeliverable orders and returns in both cases using your own records or clearly labeled planning assumptions.
Build two complete cost columns
Obtain quotes for each stage instead of multiplying a headline shipping rate. Some handling charges are fixed per shipment; others depend on cartons, units, weight or storage duration. A consolidated shipment may spread fixed charges over more units, but it does not automatically reduce a duty rate or establish a tax exemption.
| Cost field | Cross-border parcel model | Bulk and local-stock model |
|---|---|---|
| Product and packing | Per fulfilled customer order | Purchased batch and preparation |
| Transport and handling | Parcel quote and included services | Inbound freight plus local fulfillment |
| Customs assessment | Applicable parcel procedure | Applicable bulk-entry procedure |
| Inventory exposure | Any reserved or prepaid inventory | Storage, cash commitment and unsold units |
| Returns | Return route and disposition | Local receipt, inspection and disposition |
Stress-test sales and delays
Run a lower-sales scenario and a delayed-arrival scenario. Keep unsold bulk inventory visible rather than dividing all cost only by the units you hoped to sell. Conversely, include the actual per-order costs and service limits of parcel fulfillment. A mixed model is worth considering only where the operational handoffs and economics are documented.
Choose a scope the supplier has confirmed
This comparison does not confirm that LXSC provides individual consumer dropshipping or a local warehouse service. Existing catalog wholesale styles have a minimum of 100 pieces per model, with size and color split and availability confirmed for quotation. Ask a qualified adviser to verify destination rules at the relevant shipment date, and refresh the worksheet when those inputs change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does one bulk shipment mean I pay less duty automatically?+
No. It can change handling economics, but the applicable duty assessment depends on the goods and customs rules.
Is bulk stock always the cheaper fulfillment model?+
No. Include unsold inventory, storage, financing exposure, local delivery and returns before deciding.
Send your model or project requirements, quantities, size and color plan, and destination. Julie can confirm the applicable order route and what the quotation includes.
Existing-style wholesale starts from 100 pieces per model. Original-design custom production starts from 10,000 pieces. Color and size allocation, branding and packaging terms are confirmed separately.
