Identify where the inventory risk sits
In a typical dropshipping arrangement, a seller passes an order to a supplier for customer fulfillment; contractual stock commitments can still exist. A wholesale buyer purchases a batch and must plan storage and sale of that inventory. Neither model removes the need for product accuracy, customer service and a workable returns process.
