A Rp5 Million Lingerie Budget: Separate Cash Recovery from Profit
By LXSC · Sourcing and product-development guides

A Rp5 million budget is a limit to test against quotations, not a promise that an imported lingerie business will be viable. Separate cash committed to inventory from profit on units sold. The hypothetical arithmetic below is not an LXSC quote, a current freight estimate or a forecast of Indonesian sales.
List the costs before judging affordability
Request a model-specific goods quote, confirmed size and colour allocation, packed dimensions and a destination quote. Mark whether each charge includes or excludes taxes and handling. If a freight quote already contains a cost, do not enter it again under another heading.
Set aside a clearly labelled contingency instead of assigning a fabricated standard tax or marketplace fee. Use current bills, account schedules and a qualified local adviser for applicable charges. Cash reserved but unspent is not automatically a product expense.
| Budget item | Your amount and evidence |
|---|---|
| Inventory delivered to your warehouse | Rp ___; quote and included charges |
| Samples and launch setup | Rp ___; one-time or reusable |
| Selling costs per sale | Rp ___; fee, packing and fulfilment |
| Unspent reserve | Rp ___; not yet an expense |
Calculate cash recovery without deducting stock twice
Illustration only: suppose 100 units cost Rp4,700,000 delivered and ready for sale, all paid upfront. A unit sells for Rp90,000 and incurs Rp10,000 of additional cash selling costs. Net cash received per sale is Rp80,000, so recovering that inventory cash requires 4,700,000 divided by 80,000, rounded up: 59 completed sales.
This simplified cash calculation assumes full collection, no refunds and no additional setup costs. It does not use profit per unit as the denominator, because the inventory cost is already in the upfront amount. Remaining inventory is still inventory, not free merchandise or pure profit.
Keep contribution and fixed-cost break-even separate
In the same illustration, inventory cost per unit is Rp47,000. Contribution per unit is 90,000 minus 10,000 minus 47,000, or Rp33,000. If all 100 units sell on those assumptions, contribution is Rp3,300,000 before any additional fixed costs or omitted expenses.
A fixed-cost break-even calculation divides fixed costs by contribution per unit. Do not put the entire inventory purchase in that numerator after also subtracting inventory cost per unit in the denominator. If contribution is zero or negative, selling more on those terms will not cover positive fixed costs.
Replace the illustration with your order data
Check affordability and cash timing separately: when you pay, when stock arrives, when customers pay and when another order must be funded. Include slower sales and refunds as explicit scenarios; do not label an assumed sell-through rate as a measured result.
LXSC existing catalogue styles have a minimum of 100 pieces per model; size and colour allocation and availability are confirmed in the quote. Branding changes are quoted separately; original-design custom production starts from 10,000 pieces. Send your budget and destination with the exact model codes to test feasibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does selling 59 pieces guarantee that I have broken even?+
No. That figure belongs only to the simplified inventory-cash illustration. Actual collection, refunds, setup costs, taxes and other spending change the result.
Is Rp5 million enough for any 100-piece order?+
No. Product price, available allocation, freight and other costs must be confirmed for the specific order.
Send your model or project requirements, quantities, size and color plan, and destination. Julie can confirm the applicable order route and what the quotation includes.
Existing-style wholesale starts from 100 pieces per model. Original-design custom production starts from 10,000 pieces. Color and size allocation, branding and packaging terms are confirmed separately.
