Bra Cup Styles Explained: Shape, Coverage, Padding and Wires

Cup-style names are useful only when they describe the same feature. Triangle describes a shape, demi and full coverage describe coverage, and push-up describes an intended shaping effect. Wired or wireless construction and padding are additional fields, not interchangeable names for those cup styles.
Read four independent specification fields
A single bra can occupy several categories at once. For example, a triangle-shaped cup may be padded or unpadded; the shape alone does not establish whether it has a wire. A full-coverage cup does not automatically provide a particular level of support. Record the actual construction so two suppliers quote the same intended product.

Compare the neckline with the intended outfit
Photograph each candidate in the same size and from the same angles. Mark the cup edge and where the intended top sits; a lower neckline and lower coverage are not automatically the same requirement. Note whether trim, lace or a cup edge shows through the chosen outer garment. Keep this as a documented outfit check, not an invisibility guarantee.
Use actual models as references, not proof of fit
LX084 is a catalog reference for a lace triangle bra, while LXSC-56A is listed as a full-coverage cotton wireless bra. These names help identify candidates, but the current sample still needs its materials, dimensions and supplied details confirmed. For push-up candidates, ask where the padding is located and whether it is fixed or removable.
Send a specification that resolves ambiguous names
Your request should state: model or reference, intended outfit, coverage, wired or wireless frame, pad type, fastening, target size system and quantity. If a reference shows the outside only, leave the inside construction unconfirmed until a sample or technical review resolves it. Use the same approved description in the quotation, product listing and reorder record.
